In this near shot, from Night and Day, he has politely returned her to her seat and is saying, "Thank you for a lovely dance."

I'm being facetious. Actually, he wooed her powerfully, wordlessly, and she is stunned.

And finally, a few Broadway photos of Fred Astaire (1899-1987) with his sister, Adele (1897-1981). They performed in vaudeville from 1905 until 1917, and on Broadway until 1932, when Adele married and left the stage for good.
