Simple Steps

Stepping forward (woman back) with the lead foot. Stepping forward with the trail foot.

Dance figures are composed of simple steps: step forward, step to the side, hop, skip, and jump. Click on the thumbnail for the larger version.

In an open position, both partners can step forward, here on the lead foot. (Opposite footwork) Forward on the left foot. (Same footwork; nothing touching) Forward on the right foot. Notice the lunging action.
